Reading this sure was entertaining. I wash/wax my bike twice a year. The beginning of the season and the end of the season. This is my go to for those two times a year chores https://www.turtlewax.com/blogs/how-...h-a-motorcycle In between I will use one of those waterless wash products. Some I have bought at bike rally's over the years. Occasionally I will use one of the bikini bike wash services at some of the rallies. I am a big fan of "Bugslide" https://www.bugslide.com/ I have owned many different colored motorcycles and cars. My least favorite color is black. My favorite color is grey/silver. I lean towards the "I bought my bike to ride" crowd. If you're into washing and waxing, I respect that too. If I pull up next to someone and they have bugs all over their bike, I get it. If your bike shines and blinds me that's cool too. P.S. I don't work for "Bugslide" or "Turtlewax". They're the products I have used and trusted over the years. Feel free to use what you like and if it costs $10 or $100 doesn't matter, use what feels right to you for your budget and performance expectations. Wishing you al a Happy New Year! Ride hard, ride safe.

Assuming guys who do things like machine polish and coat their bikes don’t ride…is just ignorant.

"I bought mine to ride, not wax" is the battle cry of the ignorant. Because they don't have the knowledge or tools to do it, they assume it can't be done. Having a spotless bike and racking up the miles are not mutually exclusive. Of course my bike doesn't stay spotless on the road. That's damn near impossible. But between rides? Yeah, I'm getting out the detailing swabs and giving her a deep clean. I know how hard I had to work to buy it. I'm going to keep it as nice as possible and if that ruffles your feathers, well I kind of take pride in that, too.

I'll never understand people coming in here, the DETAILING section, and pounding their chest that they can make their bike look "good" in less time than other people spend.

Having said that, I completely agree with the poster above who said if you pull up next to me on a bike covered in bugs, I get that, too. No judgement there. The judgement comes in when people try to play the "I bought mine to ride, not wax" card.
