RE: Rear Shocks in Black
Correct - part number is 412-4045B for black heavy duty Progressives 1" rear lowering shocks - just rec'd mine from Motorcycle Accessories Warehouse (www.mawonline.com) for $182.95 plus shipping. Regular duty shock number is 412-4037B in black 1" lower at the same price. Heavy Duty recommended for over 200 lbs or so, but best check Progressive's website for more complete recommendations). These are both adjustable, so amount of lowering and stiffness depends on what setting you put them on.

How long will the OEM shocks last before they need replacement? I know that use and load are a key factor, but what's the ball park?

RE: Rear Shocks in Black
Had my stock springs powder coated. HD dealer in Columbus, NE did it for $40, including labor to dis/reassemble. 'Swoop In' gave me the idea and ran them into the shop for me.
