Default Progressive Drop-In Lowering Kit vs. Standard Lowering Kit

Can anyone explain the difference between the Progressive Drop-In Lowering Kit and the standard Lowering Kit?
I’ve currently got my front forks apart for powdercoating and plain to add some Bel-ray 10w fork oil back in it. In the future I was plaining on lowering the front about 1”. Trying to decide if I should go ahead and do it while I’ve got everything apart.
Has anyone had either of these kits? If so, does the ride suffer too much for daily riding. I understand it would be more firm, just worried about it riding like crap.
