30t pulley. Anyone done it and regretted it?

From looking around the forum i can throw the tri glide pulley right on the bike and not have to swap the belt which i have here but i haven't bit the bullet on installing. in reality chain drive is my best bet since i could probably gear it to use second for wheelies but relearning everything sounds like such a pain haha.

Definitely backroad gearing for sure, that's where it works best! You can cruise the highway at 80-85 still but that's the max! So not great for the freeway rider..

'06 dyna here. Stock 32/70, switched to 30/70. I like the change, but either I d!icked up the install, or the pulley wasn't heat treated properly, and the splines stripped out. I had to re-do the WHOLE thing, but I still went with the 30 tooth front pulley. I still think that the six speed gear box is a little tight, but overall, it's much better now. 1st is still a bit tall for parking lots, but everywhere else, I love it.

I love this mod,
My bike had a 32T and still has a 64T on the back so, my bike would lug. I never could let off the throttle in 6th otherwise it would start lugging so that's fixed.
Another thing was in Bangkok traffic I found first was too low and second was too high for getting through the traffic, but since I got the 30T I'm super happy.
On the outta town trips I don't notice any loss in top end speed, I guess because I haven't swopped out the 64T on the back (yet)

Just a thought for those needed to get actual speed via gps, if you have a smart phone you could download the cycling app called Strava, then simply go for a ride, it will map the ride, give actual speed, elevation, etc. I'm sure there are a million similar apps as well but I use strava every day for my cycling data
