As much as I prefer the look of having my bars even with the fork line, I too pushed mine forward. It's more comfortable for me and, as stated, it helps me sit straighter. When they were back it felt as if I was hanging on. Now, I can just rest my hands on the grips.

I pushed mine forward so they are straight up, really vertical. You can see my driving position :

Here's another pic :

I like it this way, especially with 18" apes. It's fun to drive!

Pushing them forward costs nothing. You looses the 4 bolts and you do it yourself. Just like sex, you can try different positions.

I think I will be playing with mine tonight and see if I can find a good position. I really want 16 or 18 apes because I am 6-4 just to stretch out a little bit but I don't have the cash to do it.

I feel like I have less control on my Wide Glide. Maybe it is a rake thing? Any other WG owners feel the same way?

Hey WdGldDave,

With me it could be the risers I have that change my perseption...I'm running Dog Bone risers that are 3" up and 2" back...the fact that they go back may change things for me...

That looks great! You should set up a photo album. I would love to see more pics of that bob.

amount of pull back will make a big difference, not all bars are the same.
