Default Ever install a 2 into 1 exhaust then switch back to 2 into 2?

I have an 02 FXDL that I stage 1'd with a bassani road rage 2 into 1. I like the performance I got out of it and am planning on doing a 95" upgrade with headwork over the winter to get even more out of the bike. My new problem is scraping pipes on every right turn I do that's faster than 20-30km/hr at intersections. I'm used to scraping them now, but it's a mental block to riding hard on right turns for me and is messing with my confidence a bit.

i'm thinking about going into a 2 into 2 setup just for the added clearance. Am I nuts here?

A 2 into 2 with headers would be the same as running stock headers with slip ons wouldn't it? If I were to go this route, what pipes do you think would give me the most power in a 2 into 2 setup?

Have you upgraded your suspension? I'd go with taller suspension if you haven't already, that will give you more clearance and you can keep the 2-1 for performance.

It was lowered with 11" shocks, I brought it back to 12" stock height. The forks I believe are 2 under. My buddy suggested putting in some longer forks, maybe 2 over, I'm just not sure what affect that's going to have on handling, if I keep the 12" rears

Well there's ya problem!
If I were you I'd get a good set of shocks on the rear and up the height to at least 13 or 13.5. Bring the forks back to stock or even better do +2.

lowrider forks stock are 2 under, it sits level right now. I just spent 500 on the shocks bringing it to stock height, not looking forward to dropping another grand or more to raise a lowrider...maybe I'll just live with the scraping pipes

i have 13" rear shocks on my fxd with stock front end and stock pipes (screamin eagle tapered stock style mufflers)

i always tend to lean a little less on right corners (not being able seeing through the corner) but still only have around 1/4" of unused tread on my rear tire, i have scraped pegs but never exhaust.

now ive been thinking of buying this factory screamin eagle 2-into-1 (rebadged supertrapp???) and am a little worried about it scraping.
