RE: New bike/noise laws for Denver
Its dominoes folks
We can fight it all we want - a couple hundred bikers will not sway the vote. There are a heck of a lot more people that don't want to hear us tearing up the street, than there are of us.
Sort of makes ya'll think a little about the threads that start "I want the loudest pipe possible, what should I get"?
Last time this came up on this forum, in the Dyna section no less, I was told to get off my soapbox.

Yes, this is happening all over the country. Thrillseeker is right, every time someone "gets on their soap box", they are told to shut up. So here we are.
I'v been through this mess here in the springs, both from the gov't side, and from the rider side. So let me set you straight on a couple of points.
1. There will be no dB reading, and no actual testing. And that's a good thing. A stock 883 will not meet the the limits in some areas and times.
2. Read what the firstpost above says. If it's not a stock pipe with an EPA stamp, you're guilty. Period. End of story. Pay the fine and go home.
3. It's not a moving violation, it's a civil ord based on a "quality of life" issue. So no points. But it's based on the officer's discretion wether you get a ticket or not. Once you get the ticket, you're guilty.
4. $500 is a pretty steep fine for first offence. So save those stock pipes.
