Go ahead with a 2017 or wait for a 2018

I am in the same boat, waiting for a 2018 road glide. The big difference is I have a bike to ride now. I put it up for sale for a bit but when people called me, couldn't do it. I couldn't imagine selling it now and then not having a bike through he summer. You are in BC, riding season is short. My recommendation is find a good deal on a used bike, ride that this summer and sell or trade it in. You get your PST deducted on trade in. Maybe even wait until the fall or spring to buy one of the new ones. Looking at social media posts from BC dealers, they offered really good incentives and low interest rates in the off season.

Agh. I dunno what I should do. I've been wantin my bike for months now but been having to wait because me and the old lady just bought a house. We get the house on the 30th of this month and we planned to go to the dealer on the 3rd of July. I was really wanting to take a bike home that day but now I don't know if I should wait. You guys know when the new bikes become available for purchase?

Me, I come at this from a different point of view. I got in to this HD game in the late 70's; HD builds nothing I want. My '13 is the last modern HD I'll buy. I did demo's on the new M8, they can keep it. I'll buy a Kawasaki or a Yamaha so I know it actually works; feels just the same.
You've got the cash, you've got the desire. Buy a bike and get out there riding, quit worrying about what may be the next big deal. Upgrades are not always real upgrades

When it came time for me to buy I was all set on getting the 103 twin cam engine in the Dyna. I went on test rides on a few models and it was these test rides that convinced me to get a Harley.
I then went to a local consignment dealer looking at other bikes just to make sure and stumbled upon a 2011 Twincam 96 dyna FXDC. It had all the power I felt from the 103 and had so much custom extras for half the cost of the new 103 I was planning on getting. I have never looked back and a test ride last week on the new M8 tourer further convinced me the 96 is still my best option. Its cheap to upgrade and has all the quirks already worked out giving me a dependable ride and a constant smile.
So I would say buy a nice hardly used Twincam for half the cost and use any extra to make it the way you want.
