1000 mile service cost YIKES.

Figured this being a new Street Bob with a warranty I should get the first service done by the dealership.

So today I took my Street Bob in for the 1000 mile service. 3 hours later and a bill for $371.57 wow wee labor was $ 296.34 They said I got a free bike wash. Hmmm I don't think so. Next time they see my bike will either be a warranty repair or trade in.

They topped it off with a chrome oil filter to boot. WTF.

this is always a discussion...

dealership maintenance vs. personal maintenance

just ensure any work is completed by certified harley mechanic, or if you are wrenching, use a service manual...and youtube...

A certified HD mechanic? Shit, streetjoebob, a monkey with a wrench can do the 1k; god how I despise HD dealerships and all their lies...

Thats why we call them the stealers.

Buhahahahah.....
Sorry to laugh at your pain. But what is a service plan for? Especially if you bought one?
I laughed in the face of my local service manager, when he told me the cost to repair a flat tire and two wires.

Did you think it would be free?

Did you ask how much money it would cost, before you had the work done?

Always ask "How much is this going to cost", be it an oil change, a tree stump removal, a root canal...

not all harley mechanics work for dealerships dude. some own local shops, which are a lot cheaper, and you receive more legitimate service...thats what i was suggesting

They don't actually teach reading comprehension any longer, do they? More of just social justice, tolerance, and diversity, eh?

Learn how to ****ing read, dipshit; your life will be much better that way...

Lesson: diy... 290 covers all the tools and lift you would have needed.

If you bought it from same dealership they should give you $100 credit. That's what they have promised me.
