I have a Sputhe on the front (the TT wouldn't allow installation of the oil cooler) and TT on the rear.

i run the predator on the front for now....it moved the vibrations down to around 2000 rpm which is fine because it got them out of my cruising rpm. one thing to take into consideration its for me it took a while for that predator to get broke in.
once it did things smoothed out quite a bit. im still looiking at something for the rear probably this winter...i have movement in my rear swingarm.

I have had all 3. TT, predator and sputhe on bikes. Currently I have the sputhe and it seems a little nicer than the tt. but seems to do the exact same thing. You have to call them and they send it COD (old school), only problem with that is that my wife was the one that signed for it so she knew how much it cost for real.

I would say it is one of the best things you can do to a dyna. To me more important that shocks, motor work or anything else.

My experience with the predator mount was not good. I thought it was a piece of crap and could not wait to get it off the bike. I had a bike with TT front and back and removed the front TT and stock unit and replaced everything with the predator and I can promise you the bike handled better with the TT up front. I removed it and installed it a couple times and same everytime. Very weird, super smooth at some rpms and more vibration at others and for me it has way to0 much verticle movement

^ I feel the same that you do. Mine has a lot of vertical movement but it holds the motor from swaying and handles well. I just got true track and am going to swap and see if I like that better.

This was my experience aswell. The predator will help a stock bike handle better, no doubt about it. But if you are truly pushing the bike in the corners you cant be at a TT. I've never had or experienced a sputhe but I would wager the same is true for that.

OK, probably a dumb question, but, does the Sputhe system utilize the stock mount, or replace it? I ask because I have a collapsed front mount and an oil cooler. I was leaning toward the Predator to kill two birds with one stone. I was also thinking I'd replace the rear mount, too, just for completeness.

TIA

Sputhe is stabilizer links only. You still need good isolators/mounts.

When I first got this bike, one of my initial impressions wat that it had more vibration than it should. Being a Harley neophyte, I figured it was just the way it was. Then, I started reading about shimming the front motor mount. (500 or so posts...) So, I went through the process of supporting the engine and checking the gap. To my surprise, there was what appears to be a professionally made shim in there already. It's about .060 thick. I'm thinking the bike could use about that much more, but left it alone. Then, I discovered the "bump" issue. Back I went, to discover that the mount was collapsed and the engine bracket was sitting hard on the hump. Man, that stuff is hard to file... Anyhow, that netted me a noticeable improvement.

So, I really think I should replace the mount. Given it's bad, I probably ought to replace the back one, too. So, as I see it, I have the following options:
  • First, I can replace both mounts with OEM parts for a total cost of about $200.
  • Second, I could go with the Predator front mount and a factory rear mount for about $350.
  • Third, I could go with the Predator in front, a new rear mount and a Sputhe stabilizer, if they'll sell me the rear half, for about $540
  • Lastly, I could try to get the rear half of the True Track setup, with the Predator, for about $550.
I've excluded the True Track in front as I have an oil cooler there and have heard that they are not compatible.
I suppose another possibility is a stock front mount with a rear mount and stabilizer, but it seems the front mount is the problematic one, so I'm thinking that doesn't make too much sense. Or, I could completely cheap out and just change the front mount.

Sorry for the rambling post. What do you all think? What about a non-OEM rear mount?
