id be a little worried about bolts backing out with lube and no loctite, you ever have issues with that?

No, don't be worried, Been doing it for years on multiple bikes. Never had one come loose.

I use black finger nail polish for the turn signal hinges, the front brake banjo bolt and banjo itself. Front brake splitter (under bottom triple clamp.) And other various places that are unprotected from the elements. Bear in mind that I'm close to the ocean, so "on shore drift" of salty air is a constant.

Just went out and looked. It's time t re do these pieces again, (after 3 years.)

I put gloss black nail polish on all the bolts

I also used this to repair a small chip in a powder coated part. Do several applications until you match the thickness of the PC.

i can get you a picture of the bottle when I get home, but it’s like gel enamel or something. I’ve got it on literally every bolt just to “black it out” but it holds up fine. Directly on the rocker box bolts, on the exhaust bracket bolts right behind the hot pipe. Holds up fine...and id it ever chips, easy touch up.

FXDX1985, Any flaking with the nail polish painted bolts located near the high temp areas (now that it’s been some time)?
