I’m having trouble locking the forks. I’m able to insert and turn the key, but I’m unable to remove the key once it’s in the locked position.

I can turn it back and remove the key, but at this point I haven’t been able to lock it up.

notes- the forks move freely even in the locked position. I’ve lubricated the key and the inside of the lock, adjusted the forks to try a different position, and no luck.

any advice before I just rip it out and replace it?

 

Is the key turned all the way and the bars to the left? On mine the key will turn most of the way easily and then for the final bit I need to rock the bars a little bit for it to get to complete lock. Kind of like a steering wheel lock.
