Harley Davidson Forums - I'm Baaaack...

After a 3 years, I have rectified what i consider my biggest motorcycle blunder. Trading in my absolutely perfect 2016 Low Rider S... The first one sold in NY... For, wait for it, a 2019 Fat Boy 114. The absolute stupidest thing I've ever done. Especially since that FB was probably the worst handling bike I've ever owned. It lasted about a month before I traded it in for a 2019 Low Rider, Stage 3, which was a pretty good bike. Then comes Aug 2019 when they release the Softail Low Rider Special. Since I had been pining for my long lost Dyna, I grabbed one up. I'll admit, its a fantastic bike. Great frame, inverted forks, great brakes. Really excellent. However the M8 just doesn't have the "soul" that twin cams or evos have (thats as far back as I go). So sitting in my dealer on Friday picking up that Softail LRS after getting Pirellis mounted, I saw a 2017 Dyna LRS. Something clicked. I had to have it. And today, I am now back in the Dyna family. I kept the Softail, for now, especially since all they would give me was 14k on trade. So I wanted to make sure I wasn't making another mistake so I kept it. Maybe I'll sell it, maybe not. Who knows.

What I do know is I am so very psyched to have this:

I need to put on my 12" West Coast T's. Tomorrow probably. Happily the PO put taller bars on and there is plenty brake and clutch line for the 12" bars. I just ordered fork tube clamps for the Memphis Shades Cafe I had laying around, which naturally I didn't see that I didn't have the clamps before I pulled off the stock screen. NBD, I can live without it for a while.

I happened to have a pair of Ohlins shocks laying around, so they were nice to have to put on the day I got her home. And, of course, the hideous TallBoy seat. I do have a BMC/Corbin Wall on order with +2 height and +2 back. Ohlins NIX22's will be soon, as will be an Ultracool oil cooler and a 3guyz remote oil filter kit.

Don't particularly like the TBR pipe, so I have to think on that. I do love the D&D Fat Cat I have on my Softail, so maybe that or maybe my first ThunderHeader will be my choice. I also need a Power Vision.

That's the short list. I'll keep this going as things progress.Once all the comfort/fit/heat mitigation stuff is done, I'll think about some cubes and cams.

Feels good to be back in the Dyna forum. It's been too long.
