Default Dual Disc Brakes for a StreetBob?

A couple of us have been talking about putting dual front disc brakes on our Street Bobs, and we've run into problems. No kit available from H-D; Vrod lower forks might have worked but turn out to be 1" shorter than the Bob's; questions about any wheels for the Bob being fitted with a second rotor; etc.
Has anyone else tried this or have any ideas where to steer us? I can't believe that H-D or someone else hasn't come up with a dual disc brake kit for the 49mm forks on the '06 and later Dynas. Jay

The 08 Dyna Fat Boy has dual disc legs, but I'm thinking the disc mount is spaced "in" like the WideGlide and not like the other Dynas

why? .... looks? ... braking increase?

If you are just looking to get better braking, change your pads to something better (like Lyndall's)... I hear the Lyndall pads with their rotors will really stop your ***. you will spend a heck of a lot less $$$ too.

if you are going for looks... sorry, don't have anything for you

AndI think the 08 Dynas have a 25mm axle, down in size from the 06-07 1" axle. If so, probably need both Fat lower legs?

I'm going to dual disc V-Rod mags on my lowered Bob,so I will most likely use dual mount legs too.

I spent 2 hours last Friday going through the parts book for V-Rods and SB's.
Slider tubes are indeed different between V-Rod and SB.
The V-Rod dual disc is not a transposable solution. It certainly is not a seemless solution.
You would think it would be. HD has went to sleep on this one.

Alternate solutions are:
PM has the 6 piston 11.5" caliper with floating rotor: ~$900.
PM has a 13" 6 piston caliper and rotor also.
Brembo through their US distributor QTM has a 4 piston/4 pad 12.6"(320mm) caliper and floating rotor:~$915
If I do change I'll probably go with the Brembo; taking advantage of the 4 piston/pad and slightly larger rotor size.

cynic -
where did you get this info??

1 inch is 25.4mm.

why would they change from 25.4mm down to 25mm? makes no sense.

Woodreaux, my first thought was to use the PM 6 piston set-up, but I've been told it fits the Softailsand not the Street Bob. Has anyone you know put Brembos on their Bob? Would 1 to replace the stock caliper make much of a difference? Jay

also consider another option, significantlly cheaper - Lyndhall rotor + pads togeather with a new generation V-Rod caliper (direct bolt-on to my knowledge)

Dealer told me! Hollow axles too, which are stronger even though smaller. It's more about standardizing bearings I think.

https://www.hdforums.com/m_1017804/tm.htm I have single Brembo on my 06 Superglide. I have 98 hp. and see no need for duel discs on front........
