New to me FXDC
Just bought this 2011 FXDC. It has 10K miles and was always garage kept. The previous owner is a soon to be retired Air Force Airman, and he had to sell it due to knee issues that a recent surgery botched - he bought it new. All work / service was done by the dealer. The bike is very clean for it's age. It has brand new tires, tubes, rim strips, just had the 10K service done, and it has a quick detach Windshield. He had the Dealership do the stage 1 and it runs perfect (S&S Air filter, V&H Exhaust, FP3).
I've been wanting a new to me bike for a while (currently have a 2006 Sportster 1200 Custom), and when I saw this one for sale, I knew my search was over. I've had a few 88CI Harleys, One 103CI, and I was specifically looking for a 96CI this time. Sometimes, good things come to those who wait!
I paid $9500 which I thought was a great deal. Previous owner said he really wanted it to go to a good home. It did!

I saw the rear lights / chrome rod and didn't think much of it. Now that you mentioned it, it makes sense. He probably had a set of bags he kept or sold elsewhere? I have saddlebags that I got in a previous deal but haven't ever used them. I found that some of my Sportster parts fit this bike. My LED Headlight and turn signal bulbs, the back rack in the picture came with my current Sportster. A chrome tail light cover also.

Ahhh... That makes sense. The previous owner was not knowlegeable about the specifics of the motorcycle or it's components. He was a dude who just rode it, had all work done at the dealer, took good care of it and thats about it. It did come with a chrome cup holder too.
His Ad said and he told me it had a V&H FP3.
I took it for a 80 mile two up ride with my wife yesterday, and it ran perfect. It sure seems to have a good map/tune.
I removed the seat to see what was what yesterday.
Here's what I found. I'm not mad. The bike runs great. I'm going to connect up to the PCV and look at the current map.

You have done well . Your story is rather similar to my own . I first saw my Dyna two years ago when it belonged to an acquaintance . He even let me have a go on it . At the time I had a an '04 1200 Roadster which was a great bike in its own right but I always had my eye out for a Dyna . This summer I got the message I had been hoping for . The bike was available and I had first refusal . I sold the Sportster in six days and got more than I paid for it four years ago despite having more than doubled the miles from 16,000 to 34,000 . I paid £ 7,250 ( $ 8,289 ) for the Dyna and the deal included Viking hard panniers , rack/backrest , crash bars , screen and the original cans . Ive already added nearly 4,000 miles to the 12 ,000 miles the bike came with and I've loved every one of them . This is a marvelous motorcycle that has such power in reserve that changing gear is more like changing the soundtrack ! Comfortable too , especially with some luggage to lean back on . This one's going to be a keeper for many years I think .
