Wheel bearing only if rough.

Clutch cable only is needed. How does the outside look. Go to the 99A ramps, will light pull by 15% and cost much less than the Mueller.

I completely agree about the bearings. I'm wondering about the 99A ramps. Is 99A the last three digits of the MOCO part number? I've been looking it up and can only find 87A and 00A.

You are correct.. It is the 25605-00A and 25604-00A are the correct parts. The 00A came out in 2006 to replace the 00. It has the shallower ramps. The 00 was superseded buy the 00A so even if you were to order the ramps for an earlier TC, you'll get the 00A.

My mistake..

Nice score there. That is one of HDs finest bikes if you ask me.

Beauty of a score, especially considering the rareity and age of those models. I wanted to "build" an FXR years ago, but the performance I was after wasn't easily obtained from an EVO. Local college has a couple of greybeard Harley instructors with decades of experience. I've taken lots of advice from them and never been disappointed with the outcome. They steered me to the FXDXT, and after a 6 month search I found a mint, stock, one owner bike only 1000 miles away. After a couple of years and a few thousand dollars, this was the result. This was also BEFORE the "SOA" craze hit. I ended up with a 103", using a 51CV with HQ cams and heads. Got 111HP/117TQ with 100ft lbs at 220 rpm. Ran beautifully smooth and trouble free with the 51CV.

Oh man... I'm actually jealous of your project. You're going to be SO HAPPY you're doing this as you get closer to the finish line and final ride-ability, even though it seems daunting now. My advice, take each part separately and slowly, and do it right, and ENJOY IT while you're at it. Doesn't get any better!

I'm certainly not the expert that some of the guys on here are, but MAN, I WOULD NOT mess with the wheel bearings that are in there if I were you, given the history that you have NO IDEA about. That can cause you a world of hurt - REPLACE them, they're cheap enough, even if you have to bring them somewhere to get done. And yes I agree with you, all rubber should be replaced. Why mess with those, you'll be happy you did if for nothing else than peace of mind.

I am ALSO pro-Thunderheader - that things gunna scream!

Although, I had the Screamin Eagle II's that are on there right now back in the day! If you have the right build those things can sound mint.

Please do keep us updated on your progress, we'll all be anxious to see that thing come back to life!

I've been in parts gathering mode still and busy with kids. I'm going to get going on this thing in a week or two. I'll post some updated pics once I get going.

Congratulations on your bike. There's nothing better than re-building a previously-owned Dyna. You will gain knowledge while doing the work and it will be well worth it. I'm doing the same thing to my 2010 FXDWG.

Keep the posts and pictures coming. I want to see how it comes out!
