Yep, same thoughts here, looks like you didn't get the tounge under the tank.
I'd be unhappy too! Send the photo to Mustang, along with a link to this forum page.

There are enough people on this forum who see this and might think, "I was gonna buy a mustang seat, till I saw this problem."

Actually I did get the tab under the tank, the real problem is there is a difference between the stock seat and a mustang seat as far as the tab on the bottom goes, but I cannot seem to convince mustang of this even though I have sent them these very same pics and the seat back 2 times.

the other pic of the seat with the wrinkled nose was "mustangs" first attempt at a resolution the very shodaly added more foam to the nose. and sooooooooo it got sent back again. but still no new tab............I have given up. I am going to remove the tab myself and straighten it out, as soon as I buy a pop rivet gun...this weekend, but this will in effect void my "WORTHLESS" 1 year warranty

Dude, that seat shouldn't fit like that at all? One of two things are happening here...

1) The seat isn't installed correctly or
2) That particular seat isn't designed for an '08 Dyna.

Maybe they sent you (or you bought by accident) the wrong seat for your particular bike? Don' know, but I'll tell you that I've never EVER seen a seat that after installed showed (or exposed) that rear area of the fuel tank? Somethin's definately wrong there...that's definately not how the seat is supposed to look.

I had a Mustang on my 883 before I got this bike, and the fit was much tighter. My father has a Mustang on his Roadking, and the fit is much tighter. As others have stated, it looks like you don't have the front tab seated properly. If it makes you feel better, I had a similar problem with my Corbin Dualtour. I actually fought with it for about a half-hour one day to discover that while focused on the front of the saddle I had scratched the **** out of the fender with the rear tab. In anger I called Corbin and they assured me that I had the right saddle. Luckily the tab setup on the Corbin is a bit different than the Mustang (it's bolted no riveted) and I was able to use longer bolts with a spacer to adjust the fit. I'd keep at it with Mustang, call them directly and make sure that whoever you talk to actually looks at the pictures. Take closeups, convince them to make the adjustments to the tab so that you don't have to void your warranty.

When I first bought an aftermarket seat it was a Mustang. In fact, the exact same seat you've got. I mean that literally .... it looked just like that when bolted on. I sent it back immediately to Mustang and got my $$$ back.

In all honesty, Mustang should get youa seat that fits with all the trouble you've encountered ..... Good luck!!

Your right...... The tab on the seat on the right (mustang I assume), looks like it's raised way too much. I know if I tried to mount that on my bike, the front of the seat would be lifted up!
Surprised the folks at Mustang cant see that.

Good luck with that... Ben.

If there is a Sundowner solo you can't go wrong.

would you please go outside and take several close-up shots of the rear of your fuel-tank
and the area where the seat front mounting tab should go into, but with the seat removed?

i want to compare it to that area on my '06 bike

becouse the Mustang part # is the same for '06through'08, so there should also be no difference in the bike.

I'm considering this seat but hasn't the tank changed for '08? If so, the part # should change also. I know LePera isn't doing anything for the '08 FXDC yet because they are waiting on a bike to check fitment.
