RE: Changed the rockers on the Fat Bob
Thanks for the comments. The job wasn't that hard; just time consuming. I'd work on it and tell myself I'll just get to this point and stop. Well, started at 10 pm and finished the whole job at 3 am. I bought everything from HD so I know I paid more than you have to but the black wrinkle stuff isn't that expensive. It was around $240 for the upper and lower rockers and a few bucks here and there for the gaskets and the replacement o-rings for the lower rockers and a new fuel cross over line. All and all a fairly easy job and having the service manual made the task smooth. I of course had a full tank of fuel which made the job oh so much easier....not.
I like the new look very much. It really balances out the entire motor and tranny. I'll be taking the header pipe off soon to get it black ceramic coated so as to see the black through the 'tommy gun' opening and possibly see about adding the 'tommy gun' cut out to the front heat shield as well if the machine shop says they can cut it accurately.
07bobber - yes, I still have the stock rockers but they really aren't what I would call a polished chrome. More of a satin look even though they could be polished up. If your interested in them, go ahead a pm me to work something out.
Also, don't know if you all noticed but added the bike covers kit to hide all the bolts which also has its effect for making everything jump out well.
