problems fitting risers
 
i wish to fit 4.5" risers to my 2002 wide glide with stockmini apes will i have problems with the wiring being long enoughand do you think i will get away without replacing any of the cables.

give it a go... yoiu should have enough there in cables... the thing you have to worry about is the brake lines... you can bend those strait and be cool i bet... give it a try... if not you will have to get cables anyway

what problem did you have?..was it with all the cables or wiring or both

i have said this a bunch but only cause it works... you can also measure out to see the max you can do on a rise and then just make your own risers wiht stuff you find at homedepot... i can walk you though it, it is crazy easy and cost like 5 bucks! plus it looks great!

Buddy of mine did 4.5 on a street bob with NP and like Joe said he had to bend straight the brake line. I put 12 in apes on my low rider, same thing.

it is pretty simple really... you just run to the hardware store, get some fender washers, and 2 hardend bolts... from there go over to plumbing and get some chrome pipe (the kind you have under your sink... then just get a push cap that fits... cut the pipe to lenght (tape it off to keep the chrome from flaking) drill a hole in the center of the push cap, then just count out the washers to match what you are going for... works tops! i have done it many many times! here are a few pics

4.5" risers fitted no problem a nd they look real nice............yes...........
