Default Fat Bob Wheels

I love my new Fat Bob >>>>>>>>>Just rode to Myrtle beach and back great ride!! But my only complaint is the polished aluminum wheels are bare aluminum>>>>>>> The turn to crap quick! Why didnt they clear coat them???? Ive got polished mags on my truck that are clear coated and they are 8 yrs old>>>Still look new! Just soap and water and they look new!!! Hand rubbing these wheels every 2 weeks is going to suck!!!!! Anyone else agree???

My 04 FXD was the same way.
I went with the Exile Cycle method - steel wool to clean them. Fast, easy and gave them that flat look.

i agree, i spent about 3 hours on memorial (mammorial) day cleaning and detailing my bike....and the wheels were the worst part...my hands and everything else were black from the aluminum...but hey they and the fork braces look shiny for now...still love the fat bob....

I agreed until I used the Triple Action Shout (laundry spray) on them. Spray it on the wheels when they are cool, let it set for a minute, run the water hose over them. Wipe/dry any remaining residue and they look like day 1. It works great; do a search and you'll see.

The wheels on my Fat Bob were looking very bad, so about a week ago I went to the hardware store and picked up a small can of never dull. Worked over the front wheel, buffed it out,and I was very pleased w/the results, but what a pain. last night I decided to give the bike a bath. Put some Simple Green in my pump sprayer and pumped it upa bit. Went over the bike, paying a little extra attention to the rear wheel. I let it sit just long enough to put a sprayer nozzle on the hose and then rinsed the bike with gentle pressure. Danged if the rear wheel didn't look just as good as the front and a whole lot less trouble. Read about the trick w/shout. I'll probably try it next. Wonder who figured that out?
