All depends on your taste. I went with the Screaming Eagles and am very satisfied. Nice deep rumble, sounds great when you twist the throttle. Best of all it wont mess with your hearing, especially on long rides.

It was the first thing I changed. I hated how it sounded and how they looked. I went with a set of Vance and Hines short shots, stage 1 A/C from Fuel Moto, and a set of the XIED's. Totally woke the bike up and it sounds just like I want now.

I just got my 08 Fat Bob delivered yesterday...first bike! It came with SE slip-ons, SE air cleaner, & dowload. It sounds like a Harley. It has a loud and deep rumble when I hit the throttle. My bike is black, so the black tips on the slip-ons look sharp. I may upgrade the entire exhaust in the future, but with a new bike, leathers, helmet, etc., I'm flat *** broke!

I still have my stock exhaust... sitting in the garage! I swapped it out for BR 2-2. I wanted to have loud, great sound, and not lose too much on performance. Switching to the BR 2-1 black though as soon as I get the cash, which means I am looking to get rid of a stock exhaust with no miles and BR 2-2 chrome with only about 6K tender miles on them.

I remember filling my bike up the first time after I bought it, still stock.....I pulled up to the pump and there was a father/son on the other side of the pump and I could hear them talking. The dad says "son that is a nice bike huh?" The son says "yeah but it sure is quiet"

Hope that answers your question.

When I got my bike it had Rush pipes and were pretty loud. After I dumped it loading it on the back of my truck I replaced the rush with SE slip ons and I was a little concerned that I was not going to like them. I am pleased with the sound deep, throaty but not so loud as the rush.
