You're a lucky cat even though you probably don't feel like it right now. Take it easy (I imagine the soreness will make that happen anyway) because sometimes injuries aren't felt immediately due to adreneline, shock, etc. \\;I would take absolutely no crap from the guy's insurance co. Mention "lawyer" early and often and their attitude will improve. If it doesn't, you may need to hire one (but I kinda doubt they'll give you much trouble on a new bike...depending on the co.).

If you mention lawyer, they will shutdown and refuse to talk to you. The adjuster \\;will say that if you have a lawyer involved that they are not authorized to discuss it with you and they are turning the case over to their corporate attorneys. This is my experience with multiple insurance cos. They are used to this threat, but if you have a good case then retaining an attorney for real might be the way to go.
 \\;
BTW, how did you overcome the urge to get up beat that SOB like a rented mule?

If you hire a lawyer, they won't talk to you (and they're right not to since your lawyer should be doing the talking). But mentioning a lawyer (IOW saying that you won't hesitate to go that route if you feel it necessary) \\;will get their attitude right in my experience. I'm not saying bluff....I'm saying let them know you will turn it over to a lawyer if they jerk you around at all, which is exactly what I would do.

Glad you live to ride again...in this current climate, retaining a lawyer is not optional my friend...go and just talk to one who specializes in motorcycle accidents, they will recommend seeing a doc as well...take all paperwork (ins. data, accident report, drs evaluation)...good luck
