Default 13.5" progressive 440 shock

I thinking of fitting some 13.5" progressive 440 shocks to my 06 Street Bob. Has anybody fitted some to there ride, if so can you give me your opinion. I did a search and all the threads are for lowering the shocks but being tall and not liking forwards it seems like a good idea.

If you want to go with shocks that long I would buy some take-off FXDX shocks rather than Progressives. They are top notch and you can get them at a good price (have seen them on here and on e-bay). The only reason I didn't go that route was that I didn't want the back end up so high.

+1! The FXDX shocks are bad ***. Even considering that I run 440's on my bike (11.5).
If I had it to do over, I would've went with Works shocks . The 440's are very good though. But for the money, you can't beat the stock FXDX shocks. Just make sure they're from a 2000 up. The 99 year models didn't have the good ones on em.

I'm thinking about putting 13.5" on my '07 Superglide Custom. The problem with the Progressive 13.5" is that they will hit my mufflers. The FXDX shocks have the mounts offset inboard to clear the mufflers. Look at your lower shock mount bolt and see how much clearance you have to your muffler.

Here's a question I've been pondering since my recent trip to Deals Gap....

Would putting longer shocks on my '06 Super Glide give me more ground clearance? Or would it just give me more legroom?

Coming from a sport tourer, I found the ground clearance on my Dyna a bit lacking compared to what I'm used to. I ground my pegs down pretty good, and I'm wondering if longer shocks would help.

it will give you more clearance, but probably not much unless the front is raised as well.
it will not give you more legroom as the relationship between the seat and pegs does not change.

I agree that the FXDX shocks are nice, but the few times I have found them on ebay, they command a decent price - usually right around the $300 mark

Yes, they would. But make sure the lower mount bolts don't hit your mufflers. The FXDX shocks solve that problem by offsetting the lower mount inboard.
