The Fat Bob frame struts are the same length as the Street Bob.
I'm using two Low Rider rear fenders for my project. I've started by cutting one fender in half, down the middle. I stripped my FB rear end down to the frame struts and bolted each half of the cut fender to each frame strut. I then cut a 3" wide strip from the middle of the 2nd Low Rider fender and tack welded in place lapped over the two halfs of the first fender. I test fitted a SB solo seat to align the center strip on the two half sections.
I'll finish it up by filling in the tail light hole for a smooth 'shaved' look, go with a side mount license plate and a 'run-stop-turn' signal module for the stock turn sigs.
I'll probable powder coat the turn sigs black and go with no strut covers (like the 09 SB) unless I can get a set of SB covers.

that sounds sweet, do have any photos? I'd love to it in progress.

Those brushed ones...do they take paint readily or do they need to be scuffed first?

they should take paint just fine, you just have to sand & prime really well.

Whats up boyz,

I just got an email back from Germany, they will ship that fender to the USA. Kind of expensive though, 592.98 US dollars w/ shipping. But I'm going for it.

I'll post photos when I start the project.

man, we may need to start a separate strut cover thread. I am looking for chrome ones to trade out for my brushed ones too. I know there are others out there too. Would rather trade out mine then have to buy chrome ones from the stealership.

I'll go for a set of brushed SB struts. I don't have a chrome trade though, I'm keepin' my FB stuts with the fender.
