Wheel question

Is there any reason you can't put a rear wheel on the front? All i see is spacing problems which are in most cases easy to solve. Any ideas on this would be great. Thinking about trying it on mine.

Maybe wider rear hub? So the disc can't line up to the caliper and have the wheel centered.
axle may not work. what to do about where the rear pulley is mounted to the hub.

its easier to have your hub re-spoked to a wider rim. going that way myself.
for now here's a 17" fatboy wheel fitted wirh a 150 tyre.

well i am going away from the spoke rims anyway i have a 17 inch duce rear wheel and was fitting my fatboy front rim on the bike yesterday and just for the heck of it i put the rear wheel inbetween the forks and it looks like to me it would work with the correct spacers and still match up with the brake. Ill take a closer look tomorrow when i get home from work and see if it will work like i think it will ill post pics of it mounted without the spacers since i would have to fab those anyway. I like being different and if i can make it work i will.

Mark: More details on that man!! Did that bolt right up?! I L-O-V-E the look of fat tires up front. How does it ride? What bike is that on?

looks like a nightster, but that is fat

JRK5892 02-03-2009 03:50 PM

they ride like TANKS with anything over a 160 on front... does look cool as hell though!

MarksBOB 02-04-2009 02:11 PM

it's a 150 up front on my streetbob. not a simple bolt on. had to space rotor and have new spacers made. snow outside so no better pics yet. as for the ride, not been on it yet. will post update when weather lets me out.
