I've had several. The worst was a 53 pan shovel I had. The easiest was my 47 knuckle. Manually retard the timing and kick it right up.

My '82 Yamaha had a kicker in addition to the 'lectric starter. I'd occassionally kick it, to look cool in front of the ladies. My '03 Vespa had a kicker that was poorly designed. It was basically there for looks. It passed through the transmission cover and wasn't supported sufficiently on the inside end of the shaft, so it had a tendency to crack the cover.

Had a 69 XLCH with a magneto. Left grip throttle advance was missing so previous owner bolted the mag in place so it couldn't move to either advance or retard. The most cantankerous, hard to start, finicky SOB I have ever owned. It stranded me more than once.

It was my entrance to the world of HD.

I kinda miss it. But not much.

Does a 1969 Honda C90 count? That's the only kick start bike I've owned.
