Default 12" z bar change

Hey guys, first post, been lurkin for awhile. I just got a set of Licks 12" zbars and plan on installing them maybe this weekend if I get the b#lls to do it. I have an 07 streetbob and just purchased the manual. I realize I'll prob have to take tank off but do I still need to bleed the front brake or can I leave it in tact. I plan on using all stock cables. Any insight would be great.

I did NOT bleed the front brake. However, I was extremely careful to keep the resevoir upright and unshaken at all times. You shouldn't have to take the tank off either. I also used the original stock cables and the tank was no factor. If you need to take the tank off, the worst you will probably do is slide it back. The quick disconnect on the fuel line works great. 2 bolts out and slide. I'm very new to doing my own work and I had no problems. Internal wiring was a bit tricky (take pics / make drawings of wires). The manual is a must have. Good luck! Nice pick of bars!

I did mine about a month back. You won't need to remove the tank. If you are planning on internal wiring you can just unbolt it and slide it back some to make it easier to get the the connectors. Wiring is a pain on the zbars because of the sharp bends. You'll have to take them all out of the bundle and run them one at a time.

You don't have to cut them. You use a paper clip to remove them from the connector. Do a search for "Internal wiring" on this forum. Mudd has a good write up with pictures.

+1 I used Mudd's write up. Also, when in doubt, take a pic or draw a pic of what the wires looked like when you knew they were correct.
