I read on other forums that you can put a 200 on the back and a 150 in the front instead of the 180 rear and 130 front. I like the Avon Cobras on other bikes so i stuck with what i knew.

You have any pics with the new tires on? I'm curious what that looks like compared to stock.

stock Dunslops SUCK!!!

I can honestly say after being on my 5th Harley that the stock Dunlops have always sucked for me. I had sport bikes for over 20 years and always had sticky tires but never Dunlops. My friends and the dealerships always steered me away from them. My wife had them on the first Harley a 1200 Sporty but they seemed very hard and you could feel every crack on the road. My first experience was in 20 11 when I bought a used Honda Going with Dunlops. The bike handled like crap and scared the daylights out of me. The dealer split the cost for new Elite 3 's and it rode like a sport bike like a dream. Then a year later I sold it and got a 2000 Harley Ultra Classic. It had stock Dunlops and the bike had the "Death Wobble" I had Metzeler ME 880 tires and Progressive suspension added and Wow. It was like night and day difference. Then I got a 2003 V Rod 100th Anniversary and the dealership had put brand new Avon Cobra's on it. They are amazing tires but I recently sold the bike. I recently bought my wife her 2nd Sportster. A 2007 883 low and had ME888's put on. We only have about 50 miles on them so far and I can tell you they are way better than the stock Dunlops that were on it. So this brings me to my 2011 Fat Bob I bought about 9 months ago. When I bought it it had 7700 miles and the stock 427 Dunlops were shot. The dealership (non Harley) said they would split the cost for new tires with me. The next day they called me and told me they discussed it with the Harley dealership they work with closely and stock tires were recommended so that's what they put on it. Being nieve I said okay. So it cost me half of $560. I have to say these monster truck tires SUCK. I have no confidence in them. I'm used to riding aggressively on Colorado roads. They put me all over the roads. They are terrible in turns and on Colorado twisties they seem to cause wobbly conditions. The problem is I only have about 500 miles on them so not sure what to do. My wife says we can't spend the money right now for different tires but I'm hesitant to go on rides with my local a Harley Chapter because they go on long highway rides and my bike puts me all over the place with these tires. Pretty sure I will go with the Avons as my V Rod rode like a dream on them though.

Okay, you guys have pretty much talked me into trying a set of Avons on my Fat Bob when the time comes. I'm interested in running a size larger as many of you have done.

I believe the stock tires on the Bob are 130 and 180, and the Avons should be 150 and 200, correct? Anyone have the info on exact tire models that work best? Also, are there any adjustments that need to be made or will the 150/200 Avons work with no clearance issues?

If i knew what i do now i would have ripped those skins off the day they were new. They are bias ply tires!, Not radials. I being all giddy about a new bike assumed they where radials and said yes to the tire warranty, Waste of money.

Dont wait for them to wear, get rid of them and you will have a new bike

I went with Michelin Commander 2 Front and Rear Tires, I have put over 6,000 miles on them. They handle a lot better than the stock Dunlop tires

How many miles are you getting on average out of Metzlers. I need to replace my rear tire now and was going to go with the 200/60/16 but I have a 112 mile round trip to work so if I only get 6000 miles out of a tire then I will have to order a new tire every 3 months
