Did you all pay alot extra to put the forwards on your Dyna's? About $450 for the 1200N.

No, I put them on myself. About $290.00 form Chicago HD. (chrome) Very simple and stright foward install. Also you do not have to pull the primary as the instruction sheet says. Do a search here for foward controls installation.

Got mine from e-bay. taken off on a 03' low rider at purchase.
Gave $125.00 and installed my self.. bolted straight on to my 06' SB.
Of course the dealer said it wouldn't fit, but it was perfect.. The only thing was that the ones from the 03' were blacked out,, The ones for the '06' are chrome.. But the Black matches my bike just great..

After my wreck this week I'm a huge fan of billet forwards with fixed pegs. They cost more, but also kept the side damage to the pipes and peg as it slide 15'-20' on the peg and exhaust.

I had my '09 done by the dealer only b/c they claimed I needed to take off the primary. The total cost with parts was $550.00. They also swapped the inner and outter primary for parts cost only. So I feel I got a great deal. I was willing to do it myself but I didn't have the time.

I bought a set from a local dealer ($399), bought the service manual, discovered the inner primary needed to come off, took everything in and they hooked me a little over $400 to do it.
Total $800 plus change.
