Got me a thunderheader. I've ran a Bassani 2-1 Road Rage pipe and my 2-1 Thunderheaders. The bassani's put out slightly less power then the THeaders. But if I were to choose again, I'd pick the Bassani's again. They were lightweight, small, looked and sounded AWESOME. I regret selling that pipe.

A couple of shops have told me to ditch the 2-2's on put on a 2-1 for a "tremendous improvement" then I show them the dyno sheet and ask them where I will get this improvement. I'm willing to try, but BEFORE I buy and no ones "offered" a pipe with a guarantee it'll make more power for me...I'm sure there are some good 2-1 pipes out there, but the overall tune and matching of components from A/C to muffler is the most important factor in a good smooth power curve.

2" Cycle Shack 2-2 tapered pipes...

With a dyno sheet like that why would you change a thing? IMO I don't think the 3-5 xtra HP you may gain would be worth the trouble unless it's
aesthetics your going for. I would leave it be if it were me.

In all reality, there is only so much you can do in 5+ feet of pipe. The header pipes are pretty much all the same on any pipe you look at: same diameter, pretty much the same length..... only diff is from the "collector" back... and that is just sound wave manipulation really.

There are pipes out there to fit anybody's preference. Pick the one you like, and that sounds good to you. Stop agonizing over what is probably only 2-3 horses/ft.lbs of real difference... not worth it. Hell, your dyno tune will have that much error in 4-5 runs easy.

Your going to find very little in the way of independent analysis, or a pipe shootout, because it's not worth it. However if you believe every manufacturer's marketing hype, their's is the best... that's no surprise.

cjm8806: HeadQuarters heads, cams and ignition; CP pistons @10.5-1 (by HQ), SE 51CV and 2" Cycle Shack pipes...and the SE103 crank. Pretty basic, but well matched I think.
