As much of a power junkie as I am, don't want to do a turbo. I'll do engine internals, probably the 103 kit someone mentioned, but don't want to add a turbo.
Kromer, your right, chains do look better.
Not worried about needing to adjust 'em more often, and with good chain lube, you don't get a lot of crap slinging onto the bike.

Just be careful how you do it.

Belts are far easier to maintain... as in, they're basically maintenance free. But chains offer better power transfer... and look cool.

As far as forced induction, I understand not wanting that thing hanging off the bike... but I'd totally avoid any of the "hyperchargers" on the market... the regular big-suckers and stage II a/cs do a better job.

GMR I think, makes a nice 107" kit that stays with the stock stroke, but makes some good power. I think that's about as big as you can go without increasing the stroke, and that's what I'd do.

Im also under the impression that 107 is the last size you can do before having to bore the cases for larger displacement.

How much horsepower will a 2007 crank and bearings tolerate before you should look at better quality stuff???

I would just use the HD for what it is and be happy, when you need the change just ride on of the sport bikes. That is what I do

Sportbikes are so totally different all around from a warmed over big twin; I've ridden a Blackbird, a Repsol and a Tuono; spent a week on a BMW, but there's nothin like rollin on 100+ ft lbs from 2200 rpm...not to me anyhow...whatever blows yer skirt up, I guess.
Kind of a big block mopar vs tuner car sensation???

Ok, little update for y'all that provided so much help, thanks again. Here's what's been ordered so far: for the engine, a 103 kit, Kuryakyn Hypercharger. Suspension wise, RaceTech fork internals and shocks (Ohlins seemed a little overkill this time around). That added up to $5 large, will wait til next month for wheels. brakes, chain. Exhaust will be a 2-1, haven't made my mind up on that.
Once again, the advice saved me some headaches. Really appreciate it. Will get some pics up here once I get home and put it all together, around Feb.
