Hey guys, I'm a complete FNG with a tech problem I can't figure out.

I have a 92 FXRS Low Rider Conv.
During Warm up the motor just cuts off and takes forever to get running again. Once running it has to get good and hot. When I give it gas above 1100 RPM she shuts down. I've already replaced plugs and battery.

The bike did sit in a garage for a couple of years.

Ignition?
Does she have an ICM like cars?

Dude, check for rodent damage, clean fuel system, make sure she's getting gas, my first thought because it's been sitting for so long is that a little mousie has chewed your wiring, use a meter to check all your wires, check coil, if she is getting good clean fuel, then it's electrical

 

How many years did the motorcycle sit? If there was gas in the tank while it sat for "years," that gas has gone bad and gummed up everything. Save yourself a headache - take the motorcycle to a qualified mechanic to have him give it a good going over so that it can be made safe and reliable.

 

+1 for gummie gas.you may need your jets flushed out. Or even a new carb kit floats and all sometimes.

 

The bike sat for about two years.
I figured since it was garaged and out of the elements; I might be okay.
I bought a gasket kit at the local HD shop so maybe I'll start there and see where it takes me.
