Default Sparto Tail Light Lens

Looking for guidance on how the lens comes out of the 09 SB sparto tail light. Does this thing pry out, unscrew?

thanks

It doesn't. The sparto tail light on the 09+ St Bobs is a sealled led unit. If you are looking to paint it, the lens has to be masked off, the chrome roughed up, and then it can be sprayed. You can't powder coat because it would need to go in an oven.

I was actually looking to replace the lens with a cone or bullet shaped lens.

Gonna have to replace the whole package then. It doesn't come apart. I tried when I took it off.

Sealed means glued, you can get it apart, just be careful not to damage the taillight. I replaced the lenses on off road lights years ago that were sealed, damn strong glue but they came apart, not all in one piece though.

may try putting it in the house oven on a low heat for a couple minutes to see if you can soften it up. Works on headlights not sure about this tail though.

I'm going to give it a whirl. I figure I can split the existing lens with a dremel then take it out in (in pieces).

I really think a bullet tip lens would look great, But first I need to find someone has moved their license plate and be willing to sell their sparto take-off.

I think a lens like this woud look great. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions.......

Just posted a WTB in the classifieds here. If you know of anyone, point them my way

Think it will look cool. Definitely unique. Would love to see a pic once you get it back on the bike.

dude it comes out, you just have to pop off the glass we just coated one last week that the owner brought in, he said it was stupid simple to open it up, when he puts it back together he is just going to use some marine sealant

Cool, I've been surfing rod shops looking for the right diameter bullet tipped lens. As soon as I get a spare sparto I'm going to do it.
