RE: SE II Muffler Owners READ!
The sleeves in the ends of the mufflers have slots in them to help crimp down onto the head pipes with the muffler clamps. If the muffler clamps are slid back too far past the slots, they wont hold very good no matter how much you torque them. Make sure the clamps are over the slots.

RE: SE II Muffler Owners READ!
I installed SE II's last yr. I used the rivits because the instructions said to, we all read them, right? Anyway when I had a new rear tire installed eariler this yr, the Tech was having trouble removing the pipe so he could slide the axle out. I walked right in the shop and asked him if he removed the rivit, he said "what rivit", anyway the tech, service mgr, and shop owner all asked me why I used the rivits. I guess they never read the instructions. Seems to me most of you are right, if they are properly torqued you don't need them, but I feel better having them secure. There is a reverse baffle or cone inside the SE II's for added torque, so I'm thinkin' it should help "hold" it on.

This f%^kin MOCO better get their Sh^t together soon or the Japs will prevail
Just look at GM now
From factory to dealer and consumer service Harley really needs to step up to the plate

As far as GM is concerned, I'd like to see the Japs make a car as sweet and fast as a Corvette Z06 for that price. They've tried to rival the Vette in the past with a Mitsubishi 3000, an Acura NSX, a Toyota Supra, and a Nissan 300, all are out of production except for the new Nissan. GM must be doing something right.
I say, Defend America and Buy American!
