I have to admit that I am a loser, a nerd, and a geek.. I went to my favorite biker bar after a 200+mile ride yesterday and it was almost a ghost town. On a usual Sunday there are 200+ bikes, yesterday maybe 50. If you're posting on this website, I assume you're not at Sturgis either....I'll be there next year....As far as this week goes, I will hang my head in shame and hide my bob in the garage.....yeah right...

Riding is about doing your own thing. These rally's have gotten so big, that it's perfectly fine to stay away from the bull and spendin' all that $ on crap and just go out and ride.

 

Some people have to earn the $ for their family and can't take a week off for themselves.
I know I probably won't go to Sturgis till kids are grown and out of the house. Doesn't bother me, just enjoy each day you do get to ride and it doesn't matter where you're riding.

My wife and I went in 2000. If you like very cramped, and very crowed places, with very rare places to park, and like paying lots of money for food and drink, then Sturgis is the place for you. Really, anyone who hasen't been needs to go at least once. We loved the Black Hills, and want to go back some day, but not when the ralley is taking place.

 

Anyone heard about the trouble brewing in Cody with outlaw biker,s ?? Pre Sturgis warm up ??

Been to Sturgis twice - '98 and '00. Like he said, too expensive and crowded for my tastes. Won't do it again.

 

Everyone that rides should go to Sturgis at least once, but to make is a pilgrimage every year is rediculious in my opinion. The crowds are smothering, it's hard to enjoy the great riding in the area because of the traffic, and prices are greatly inflated for the most part.
