Default anyone have experience of handle bar dampers?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HARLEY-DAVIDSO...item439edddf8e

Are these for real? I have a pretty much standard '99 1450 FXDX and wondered if these my help cure some of the bar shake?

Yes. They are polyurethane bushings. Makes your handlebars stiffer in the trees. The stock rubber bushings allow a lot of play.

Yes the poly bushings substantially reduced some of the vibes from my bars.
I was very satisfied with the results.

I bought the HD ones as well.

Cheers,

I tried poly bushings and got more "buzz". I think its a trade-off between vibration and tight coupling of bars to steering head. If you want to scrape your pegs, go poly; for a plusher ride, stay with OEM rubber.

I hated all the play in the stock rubber bushings so I bought some HD poly bushings to replace them when the handlebars were changed. I had read some people said the bars would vibrate more but in my case it vibrates less and there is no play anymore. I love how stable it feels now, definately worth the money.
