Default TIGHT BRAKE PAD!! (wheel does not turn)

Yesterday I changed a rear tire for my Fat Bob and put wheel, brake and everything back on. Now, brake pad is so tight and rubs against disc and wheel has hard time to turn! Could somebody help to find what possibly I did wrong? Thanks.

Did you take the brake caliper apart at all?
Did you get the spacers back in in the correct place?
Did you happen to pry the pads apart before putting the wheel back on?
Try doing it now and then operate the brakes a few times and see if that helps.

Maybe when you had it apart you pushed the brake pedal slightly. This closes up the pads like you describe. You need to ease the brake pistons back in. Easy done.

First, follow 8541hog's instructions. Thats the best starting point

Question... Did you remove the caliper to install the wheel? If so, could you have possibly crossthreaded the slider pin? (Will cause the caliper to skew and bind the pads, though usually not enough to lock up the wheel)

And, did you make sure the pads were where they belong? If the leading edge dropped out (inner or outer, or both), that can cause binding too.

make sure the pads are in right but what you are saying sounds like your spacers are on the wrong side

Thank you guys for your tips. I did not take caliper apart and spacer seems to be at right position. Maybe wheel alignment is off? I try to breathe the brake system tomorrow.

I also changed my own rear tire yesterday as well. The 16" wheel on the FB makes installing the brake caliper and it's bracket a tricky maneuver.

I strippedd the threads in the aluminum bracket for the caliper pin srew. The screw has a 5/16-24 thread... NAPA was the only place that had a Heili Coil repair kit for that size. Cost me $50... the bracket lists for $58.

That was the biggest challenge in my opinion, it took several trys to get the front of the inside pad to engage the bracket. I used a flash light, looking through the slots in the wheel from the drive pulley side, for visual assurance that I had it right.

As for the spacers on the FB… one is obviously longer than the other. The short one goes with the caliper bracket, the longer (which is about the same as the shorter + the bracket) goes on the drive side.
I don’t think the wheel would go back on if the spacers were switched.

If you didn't lossen the brake line or take the caliper apart I'm not sure what bleeding the brake will do for you.
Take a look (from the drive side) at the 'leading edge' of that inside pad.

Thanks for all your help!

Looks like pistons and metal rings around that on calipar are popping out more than necessary. I guess I accidentally pressed brake pedal. Don't they go back to normal seating position easily? Do I need to disassemble calipar?

Another thing, accessing top of reservoir is difficult! Do I need to disassemble whole thing to open a cap of reservoir?

No, you don't have to disassemble the calipar to reseat the plungers.
Use a 'C' clamp.
