well....
never for pub tips.
not always for day trips.
But yes, for longer trips.
I have a bicycle pump in my garage, so adding air takes less than 3 minutes. Then I crank the shocks up 1 notch, or 2 if we have luggage.

Makes a difference.
And gives me something to do while she's getting ready!

Front 100/90 19 57H: 38 to 42psi.

Rear 160/70 B17 73H: 40 to 42psi.

I keep my front at 38 and my rear at 40.

What psi were you running them at? And how did the bike ride?

30 front
38/40 rear

I think it rides just fine and the tires seem to be wearing pretty evenly after 7k miles.
I can see myself boosting the PSI and going for a ride - but probably won't keep it that way.

thanx to the op for this thread- i have been running mine real low as well like baseman. i used the recommended psi in the service manual but only cuz I couldnt find any pressures listed on the tire- 30/36. i thought they handled great still compared to the dunlops and really love the way road grooves and bridge grates are mostly unnoticable now where as the dunlops would cause my *** to pucker up quik. The only thing i did nitice that i dont like (with low arce pressure) is turning the front wheel at low speed. Just a tad difficult. guess ill be pumping them up today. thanx again !

That's why I asked this question... I heard that the Metz sidewalls are softer than the Dunnies and need to be inflated more.

I raised mine from 32/36 f/r to 38/42 and it rides better.

Wow. Surprised at how much higher the tire pressure is in the Metzlers compared to the Avon Venoms, which I've been riding at 36psi in the front and 39 psi, rear.
