That tailsection looks great. Is that off an 06 or newer GSXR600/750/1000?

That's an 07/08 gsxr1000 tail. I did that before there were any conversion kits available.

I guess I went the opposite direction. I started out on a sportster and eventually traded it in for my Streetbob. Bought a Ninja 250 for my girl to learn on and something that I can bang around corners. Turns out I really liked the sport bike. So I gave her the 250 and bought myself a ninja 650.
Trying to save up for a track suit and towing capabilites this winter so I can go to some track days next year. If I like it as as much as I think I will, I plan on eventually getting a dedicated track bike. I just dont like the idea of messing up my 650.

The funny thing is, I learned how to ride the sportbike properly on my cruiser. With the lean angle being what it is on my sportster and dyna, really had to learn a thing or two about using those mid mount pegs and weight distribution to get more out of those corners.

I rode MX for years before I got my first Harley, it was a night train. I would still be riding and racing dirt now if I had the time.

I started on dirt bikes. Was too poor to have one but my neighbor had two Kaw 80's. Think it was a KDX?? We lived in the country and had a blast. His dad had a 1980 KZ1000 MK II and I used to hear him winding that thing out from a ways off when he came home from work.

That got me into the KZ's. Still have that KZ bug today.

Fiend, your street bob is sick man...

Did you powder coat the rims before you realized that there was every size whitewall tire except 17" ..

I got a 16 " rear to put on this winter , then it's off to powder for orange rims (dark , almost red) and whitewalls !!!

then maybe I'll finally get my 20" apes on there too ...!

Then get the rest of this chrome off my bike and I'm good to go...

I also used to have a night train... I fit good in it (I'm 6'3") with 3" forward extensions , but what a hunk of crap it was.. no power and NO braking with that ridiculous bicycle tire on the front of it ...

I come from a long line of sportbikes, getting older and just realized that the speed needs to be left on the track only, so I needed a road bike! I also live right close to The Dragons Tail, aka the gap, best set of curves around!
