Default question about '06 street bob

Should there be a cover for the swing arm bolt on the '06 street bob? I just noticed there wasn't one and there's was rust inside now on my bike. I guess its not a big deal, but I'm wondering if its missing. Thanks.

I don't have a cover on the nut side. When I have a question like that I make a list and go to the dealer and compare my ride with others. Like on my FLHTI the tire in the rear is closer on one side toward the fender than the other, so I made the trip down and checked the other rides and found the same thing.

If you are calling the rear fork pivot shaft a swing arm bolt then yes, there should be cover for it to provide a nice finished appearance. There is no cover on the rear axle nut, just a retaining ring.
