Default Up and running with new Leather Pros

The UPS truck delivered my new Leather Pros LP3100 saddlebags today and I got them on tonight. They are everything I heard and read about them. Install was a snap (after turn sig relo), very solid construction, fit very close and secure to the bike. I even made one of those 2x10 wooden lifts to get the rear tire off the ground. Made the install much easier. My updated sig pic shows them on the bike and I attached some other pics in the thread later on. I highly recommend the Leather Pros.

Not to hijack, but I want to know more about the 2x10 wood lift you made.

More pics of the new Leather Pros. I also included a pic of my scrappy 2x10 manual lift.

You can see a pic of it in my post above. There is lots of good info on the forum about building one of these. Just do search on lift or jack. However, I basically followed the instructions from the link below.

http://roadstarclinic.com/content/view/78/130/

As you can see, I only used 2 2x10 boards. Three boards was too wide because the bottom of my Wide Glide frame is not flat from front to back. There is a guard right in the middle of my frame. So I have to place the 2x10 between that guard and the back wheel when I lift it. As others can attest, it's an inexpensive means to get your bike off of the ground and it can be done with just one person. I spent about $20 in materials and it took about 30 minutes to construct. Obviously, it's not as good as a jack but I don't do enough to warrant the cost of good jack. Hope this information helps.
