Great info/feedback.

Now I'm looking at these instead:
PM Contour XL
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/501-299
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/501-297
although I can't understand why the first one is so much more expensive than the second one...they look identical to me.

and also these:
Avon Grips Chrome Velvet with Throttle Assist
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/221-954
Although I don't quite understand what throttle assist really is/does.

I like the PM grips better. I went to the performance machine website and found the stock number for my bike then I made sure it matched where I was getting them. As long as they fit your bike go with the cheaper ones they look the same. Make sure its not for a different model or year.

Check out wanaryd.com I think that is correct. They sell on ebay too and had the best price when I bought my PM Contour XL grips

Recently got my first bike, a 2010 Fat Bob. Denim black and came with black Vance & Hines big radius pipes, sundowner seat, and sissy bar (which I've removed). I really want to start changing out the grips, pegs, mirrors, but figure I will start with the grips first.

I really dig the look of these grips, but don't know how comfortable they would be, and/or how fat/narrow these grips are. Hard to tell from the picture. Anyone have these and if so, do you like them?
This is what I have: http://www.jpcycles.com/product/5100179

Not that you're interested but I suppose the new chrome is black:-)

Default Accutronix Grips

I have a set of Accutronix grips on my bike that are very similar to the first ones you were looking at. The only difference between mine and those is mine don't have the notches cut in them. They are knurled completely on the hand area. I find then very comfortable either with gloves or bare hands and my hands don't slip off if they are sweaty.
I had a set of larger diameter Screaming Eagle grips that were knurled and had slots cut long ways in the grips. They were the most uncomfortable grips I have ever had on a bike and I was glad to get them off the bike.

Thanks. I just ordered a pair from Wanaryd.com. Indeed, best price on the Internet I could find.

I don't think I would want all-metal grips, either. One of the new Wide Glides I was considering at the dealer had the edge-cut billet grips with matching mirrors, pegs, and lower controls. My first question was, "How is that gonna feel after an hour in the south Texas sun?" Hell, even the older cars with hard-plastic steering wheels were very uncomfortable on the hands after heating up in the sun for a while. Of course, gloves would make it a non-issue.

The stock grips are just fine for me (for now).
