yes, I got the kit for them which included the lines, bracket and the union, you also need the quick-air fitting unless the shocks you get already have them - total cost about $55. Originally I just tucked it under the seat with the electrics but recently bought a roll of line ($16 fir 25 feet) from the dealer and relocated the valve to the old horn mount like so:

Do you think 13 looks good when you sit on it? I don't have to lower my bike but this is an option.
13" will actually raise it slightly as your stock shocks are 12.5" but IMO it doesn't look bad - depends what you are after though, handling or looks.

Yes they were new. Buddy of mine bought a 2009 Ultra and had the Street Glide low profile shocks put on before taking the bike from the dealer. They were capped. No oil leak. Easy install of new schrader (sp) valves from Napa.

I weigh 225lbs, I have full size touring hard bags and a tour pack. Maybe that has something to do with it. Either way, they were a cheap alternative to getting better shocks.

They all fit - but I would get something for a 2009 and later - better shocks regardless of if you get standard or lowered.

There's a few threads on filling/changing the oil - maybe heavier oil and play with the level. I'll post it later on - gotta hit the road now.

Mine are from a 2009, but they should all bolt up with out a problem from what I understand. 13" eye to eye and I don't think the mounts on the shock have changed. Maybe some more will chime in with newer versions from 2010 or 2011 and confirm this. You see them for sale in the classifieds here from time to time for $100 - $150 I think.

Is SB stock length 12.5? I didn't know that. I will look for something newer then, thanks all!

I appreciate it but I've read the same threads. I thought about doing it but to me that was like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound. The performance of these shocks is not what I want so I just decided to move on. Definitely comfy though.

Yeah check out the link you posted in your first post. If you read the part description it says it doesn't lower a FLHX (Street Glide) because it's already using the same size shocks.

You want this part number if you want the 12.5" lower profile shock: 54635-09

It's the one for '09 or newer touring models that holds a larger volume of air giving you greater range of adjustment.
