amsoil voids factory warranty?
#31
I've had dealers recommend Amsoil (that they sell) in the past. It's all BS that it voids warranty. Running w/out oil will void warranty in many cases (they don't fix dumb for free), but running a different brand w/in spec is fine. And we wonder why people keep flippin' the patches on their jackets...

No !! Using Amsoil does not void your warranty...it is illegal for HD to say so..as seniorsuperglideE8 said, read the Magnusson Consumer Protection Law, aka the Magnusson-Moss Act..

Talk to a local dealer about amsoil today and he said once you use amsoil you have to stay with it and if there is a failure factory won't cover repairs.anybody heard of this and what are your thoughts about switching I was going to change my oil sat.already bought every thing.oil and filters.
If it was just the service guy, call the manager and let him know what kind of BS this guy is sprouting off on. The manager would probably like to know if there is a guy in his building lying to the customers. Maybe you can get a free oil change out of it (once you threaten to leave for another dealer). Or you still leave for another dealer....and just feel good in helping the manager out.

For anyone that has EVER been told that something will void your warranty....
Tell the person telling you that to put it in writing
Then ask them if they even know what the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act actually says.
