Not sure if this is close to what you had in mind, but hopefully it'll help you visualize:

Thanks for the image! I converted it to Vector and cut it in vinyl (white) at 6.75". It looks good but I don't know if I want to strip off the badges on my FBob to find out. How hard would it be to put the OEM tank emblems back on if I didn't like the decal?
If I wimp out, I would be willing to send the set to someone else to try (free).

BTW metallic silver, or white look best on Pearl Black?

I removed my tank badges (FXDWG), and they will never go back on... I'm not sure about how yours are made but mine were thin aluminum with a double stick foam tape to mount. #trash

I don't have the demin paint that many seem to prefer so I'm not sure if it would accomplish anything, but if you want to see how the white looks, send 'em my way and I'll throw 'em on my tank and take photos.

Another thought that I had was to cut the vinyl and use it as a stencil to paint the letters on the tank. (Not something I'm going to do, but it's an option)

DANG that looks BA. I'd love to do this but I'm not sure if it can be done on denim paint.

I cut it in white and silver, but I think the silver is going to win. I de-badged one side already and will apply it over the weekend. I was ready to go when I saw a small scratch near the position of the OEM badge. I will have to buff it out before applying.
Pics to come...

I plan on using a stencil to paint it on in a flat silver.

I put them on tonight, and I LOVE them! This is the Silver metallic, but it is hard to tell in pics. I have it sized at 7", positioned the same angle at the stock badges.
Here are a few iPhone picks. They are not the best, but I'm not going to do any better in the garage (it is dark outside).
The vinyl is Oracal Premium Cast 951 in Metallic Silver (their best vinyl)
2 mil thick
10 year durability
Stable in temps from -58°F to +230°F

What do ya think??

Old

Taped

Close-up
Hard to see the metallic. Hope to get better pics in the sunlight

Done! Sorry it's so dirty, got caught in the rain

I know it's dirty, got caught in the rain yesterday
