I just upgraded my wheels to the same style...designed and manufactured by HD Wheels in LA. I didn't even know they were an option from Harley but I went with that style because they're much easier to keep clean and no lip to have crap build up in.

I wish I could've gotten the bike sooner, I'm pretty sure the PO just left the thing out in the weather the whole time he had it. There was pitting on the wheels, derby cover, footpegs, and corrosion on all of the engine bolts. Lotta hours into cleaning it all up, probably woulda been easier to just replace 'em all 1x1.

Meh, I'm not sure I WANT the lip. I may just bite the bullet and get mine powdercoated.

That's the same style wheel that comes standard on the Super Glide Custom. See my '09.

Too bad to buy a bike so badly neglected. It's tough to rationalize the effort and expense of a quality restoration.

Well, everything other than the wheels and pegs are in tip-top shape now, it was a labor of love I guess...and a good reason to drink beer.

Laced wheels require rim strips and tubes. Though there is a company who has developed a method of sealing them (until you adjust a spoke).

Had my front tire off this morning. No tube... But I think I'm gonna put one in there, just seems a bit safer.

Dude, those wheels are SHARP! You can't get any classier than that! Why in the world are you wanting to change them?

[edit] didnt' see any issues in the pic.
