Default 2012 FXDC Clutch Pack Adjustment

About to do the first 1k service on my Super Glide Custom. Someone told me that I did not need to do a Clutch plate adjustment when changing the primary oil. The person told me that it is an auto adjusting plate adjustment.

Is this true?

Let me know when you find out. I'd say no. As in it has to be adjusted. Cables stretch and plates probably wear the most in first couple thousand miles.

That's a new one to me.

Maybe whoever told you that was thinking about the primary chain tensioner. As far as I know you should still have to adjust the clutch. It's actually pretty easy to do. If you don't already have one you should get a service manual. Also, the Fix My Hog dvd's are really good at taking you through things.

Or Expert Village on YouTube. He goes through the complete clutch adjustment at the clutch pack and the hand lever. But yes they do need adjusting just make sure the bike is cool or at room temperature before you do it or it will not be adjusted right.
