Why custom front ends won't fit DYNA'S?
Hi,
I wonder why the aftermarket front-ends won't fit my DYNA Superglide? It's a Big-Twin with 1 inch bearings, so what gives? There are really nice fornt-ends availabe on eBay for under 500 bucks! Was set to get one, but the seller said it wouldn't fir my FXD, and i'veseen it other places as well. what gives?

I have a softail frontend that they said wouldn't fit a dyna. It bolted right up . The only problems was the forkstop which I made a bolt on fix for.And you have to change your front brake caliper to a pre 2000 style. And you have to make up 2 spacers ( If you useyour stock front tire)The one thing you have to watch is the length. If it says stock length its most likely stock for a softail with a 34 degree rake and is about3 1/2inches longer than your dyna's. It is an easy swap that can be done in a few hours.

So the question the begs to be asked, what kind of fork stop? Are you talking about the external posts that stop the fork from coming over too far? The forks I'm looking at are 24 inches long from the bottom of the tree to the axle, and they say it's 2 inches over, made by DNA, with 3 degrees of rake.
So, basically when they say it won't work on a DYNA, it's because the internal fork stop doesn't work, I guess....[&:] So, what's the big deal with the external posts? Can' see a problem with them myself...
