pay attention to the wiring.

 

I had never done it before and it took me about an hour to put the mini apes on mine without having to change the cables like they said I would have to

 

8 hours is what the moco bills out for bars and wires? damn they must be counting in smoke breaks, lunch and chattign time with customers.... i did my 14" burly bars and internally wired in 4.5 hours on a saturday. i usually do them in about 5 for other people and charge $40/hour to do them.

its not a hard jub if you got a manual and some basic tech skills

 

Does the dealer provide lube???

Looks right for a dealer install...They are adding in an extra quart of Primary + and I am not sure why you need a brake line kit for 69 bucks and a line for 64. Aren't Superglides single caliper bikes?? That labor is CRAZY. 110.00 an hour. No way in hell I'd pay that...No way...The install is pretty easy to do yourself and you can get all the parts you need for around 550.00 dollars...

 

I put a set of 12" R6C bars on my '12 Wide Glide a couple of weeks ago. It was a pain, but I got it done. I didn't find it all that difficult but it was time consuming. I had to replace all the cables, but I didn't do anything to the wiring except run them internally. The service manual is a must.

For that price you should get it done twice...

 

look closely at the distance between the clutch release cover and the exhaust pipe.
if you decide to do it yourself.
i used a cut-off saw & cut off about 5/8" off the L part of the appropriate allen wrench.
so i didn't have to remove th exhaust pipe when i did my "09 tri-glide.
also butter lube the new clutch cable "O" ring with permatex non-hardening sealant
before you install it.
also see what allen wrenches sizes you need & cut them off to about 1 1/2" & glue them in the appropriate 1/4" socket.
and when you pull the old clutch cable out; hook a heavy wire or stout string to the end. that way you know exactly how it is routed, when you reinstall the new cable.
note where the OEM tie wraps are placed.
its not hard to do just a bit time comsumeing. 8-12 hrs. & depending on how big the new handlebars you want. usually my paul yiffe 10" BAGGER bars didn't need elec. wireing extension. just a 4" over clutch cable $125.00 & 12" TBW extension. 25.00 on dealers shelf.130.00 for handlebars.1 qt red line shock proof gear lube.15.00
blue threadlock all screws . & depending of the age of your handle bar bushings
you can change them out the polly ones.if you are going for 12" or larger APE bars, look for pre molded elec. wire extensions kits.

 

Try another dealer or service shop. Doing it yourself is not that big of a deal if you have tools, patience, and some mechanical ability and electrical wiring knowledge. I did it to my '01 SG over the Christmas Holidays but the wires on it are external and had to be extended at the forward frame exit. Lucky for me, I know a lot about electrical/electronic wiring so it was not that big of a deal. The handle bars, wiring kit, throttle/clutch cables, brake line, and some miscellaneous parts/hardware cost just over $400 from the dealer and another $200 or to replace rusted/corroded chrome, brake pads and fluid, and some new mirrors to complete the job.
