I like contrasts of chrome and black.

For instance, I have a FXD with a silver motor... I think it called for black pipes, and covers. Where a black motor calls for chrome pipes and chrome accents.

I just got black rocker box covers which I think improved the look of my bike.

I still need to black out are my trees.

So, I prefer a nice mix of black and chrome.

Black on black to me.... is just black... IMHO.

I like the contrast of some chrome and a good chunk of black.

I don't think a Dyna needs the blackout treatment to look good. I got my fill of black with this:

So I had some contrast when I built this:

All blacked out is too much black in my opinion.

Yes, totally agreed! You have the best of both worlds Joe, black goes so well with your blue.
Your scoot is sick!

I think it's all about balance. Black is and will become an even more predominant color on my bike...struts, fork lowers, trees, bars, battery band...but after that I'm good. It's all about making the shiny stuff pop.

I don't think it's a passing fad...if it's done right. A bike blacked out like I'm talking about and as many have done is a timeless look.

Of course, to each their own, I hear ya!
The idea I have on my front end is, view from top to bottom. Upper black(handlebar), chrome trees, black gaiters and polished lower sliders, love the way it is. I never said black tree and black lower is wrong, they do look cool!
This is why people start adding black, always end up with more black I guess.

The easiest thing to do at this point would be to use chrome bars and rear shocks, then everything will be tied together. Otherwise, go all black and don't look back!!!

And the red wheels on a completely black out bobber is always my fav!
Just a couple examples.
